Our initial fundraiser raised an amazing £12295 from 195 donors which funded all the costs of the first hosting of the Exhibition at Belfast Exposed. Details of all funds raised and spent can be found on that page. To continue our work raising awareness and taking our exhibitions on the road you can help by donating via the link below. With thanks
Apart from the impact that is more difficult to measure - support and friendship for the women, creating a legacy, raising awareness etc we have already achieved something tangible and measurable!!!

Apart from the impact that is more difficult to measure - support and friendship for the women, creating a legacy, raising awareness etc we have already achieved something tangible and measurable!!!
Just last week Cancer Focus NI confirmed the following...
"As a direct result of the SEEN TO BE HEARD Campaign, Cancer Focus NI have pledged to fund a Secondary Breast Cancer Audit which will be carried out by the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry. This is a crucial step in ensuring that data is collected and used to inform policy, clinical practice and support of people living with Secondary Breast Cancer here in Northern Ireland"
We continue now to the next tangible goal - Secondary Breast Cancer Nurse Specialists
Please take time to read the below and if you are free on the 18th August book your ticket. As most of you will know I am living with Secondary Breast Cancer (SBC) for which there is no cure. The medium life expectancy is 2-3 years. The recent Seen to be Heard campaign (Advocacy through Art), which was facilitated by the amazing photography of my friend Jennifer, has not only helped raise awareness of the impact of living with SBC but has also drawn attention to the disgraceful lack of services available to people in NI in comparison to the mainland. ie No NHS funded secondary breast nurse specialists, no clinical trials, lack of access to drugs etc etc. (It is notable that the 144 page draft 10 year NI Cancer Strategy had only ½ page dedicated to metastatic cancer!!! what does that say re priorities??)
Through friendships formed, over the last year in hospital waiting rooms, we as a group of women have now established a NI link with a Scottish charity called Make 2nds Count (M2C). The ONLY charity, that I am aware of, in the UK that exclusively supports men and women with SBC.
Having heard my story the Recruitment Consultancy, MCS, very kindly offered to sponsor a Primary and Secondary Breast Cancer Awareness event. This event, details in link below, will support the charity M2C and 'Seen to be Heard' who through different mediums are actively making a difference to those in NI living with this devastating disease.
Please share and if you can support this event.
